What is something you would like to change from your past and what would you say to your highschool self?

Diego León:

I would have liked to study something similar to astronomy, engineering, or physics. Although I like to be a teacher, if I’ve got the opportunity to change that part of my past, I would. Not to be an astronaut, but more like an astronomer. I would tell my highschool self to believe more in himself, because (for example) when I started university I didn’t believe I had the potential, so I didn’t continue with my dream of being an astronomer.

Magdalena Saenz:

I wouldn’t change anything, because even if at some point I made the wrong decisions, those are the ones that have built me in the person that I am today. Even the worst choices are the best ones today in terms of building myself as a human being. I would say to myself to be a little bit more crazy, because I was very disciplined so I think that I needed more of the outer world and to live more my life.

Angela Mancipe:

Well, from my past I would like to change a lot of things, but mainly I would like to change the decision making. I would like to have been more determined in the things that I had to do at the time, or the life-taking decisions. To my high-school self I would tell her not to be too cheesy, because I really was! I needed to be more realistic.

Juan Camilo Acuña:

I believe there is not something significant that I would like to change, but, if I could, I just would have liked to start studying music earlier because I started when I was a teenager like when I was 14 years old. I would have liked to have started when I was like 5 years old, so that I would have developed much more my abilities. As for the rest, I would not change anything. I would say to my younger version that I could have demanded and obeyed myself more, because I had a lot of projects that I didn’t complete as I thought that being a teenager stopped me from achieving them.

Leonardo Pizón:

I think that I would not change anything, but instead enjoy much more every moment. Sometimes I didn’t enjoy it because I was thinking about the future, and when we focus on this we lose the possibility to appreciate the present. So, if we are planning all the time, we lose that opportunity of living the moment fully. For example, I would have loved to spend more time with my father because he died when I was 12 years old. I would tell my high school self to not be so perfectionist, because sometimes that drives me to be a stressed person and that is not very good. I tend to put a lot of pressure on myself, so I would tell him to take it easy, do what you like, and don’t be so hard on yourself. Even nowadays I continue working on that, because it is not something easy to let go as I like to control everything in my life, but when we start growing and we get older, we realize that we can’t control anything.

Lara Gonzalez:

Maybe because right now I don’t live with my parents and my brother, I would like to have spent more time with them and share more with my brother. I think I was very focused on the role of being a big sister, so sometimes I forgot to share and play with him. Well, and  to my high-school self, I would tell her that there is no need to rush and that it is very important to live and enjoy every moment. Yeah, it would be to take things in an easy way.

Nancy Espitia:

I really wanted to volunteer and work in some natural reserve or a natural park, but unfortunately I couldn’t do so. That would be something I would change. I really love all the mountains and those types of ecosystems, for example, Iguaque. Regarding what I would say to my high school self, I would tell her that life passes so fast and that I shouldn't worry about things that aren’t important. Also, that our own happiness should not be in the hands of another, as it should not depend on anyone, just on ourselves.

Lorena Cardenas:

Well, I honestly wouldn’t change a thing from my past. I enjoyed and learned what I needed from every situation. I would tell to my high-school self that I should have enjoyed even more every second, because sometimes because of dumb things there were times when I did not live to the fullest the little moments.
