March Again

By: Luisa Lafaurie 10ºA

A year in a pandemic… Who would have thought a year ago that we would still be here today? This past year has taught us many things, we have learned how to adapt, how to be near being apart, how to appreciate and accept, and how to take advantage of every moment we have together. In this time, we have been isolated, many of us have gotten to know and love ourselves, and we have discovered new abilities and passions we can pursue. I believe we have grown and learned a lot, not just individually but as a society. Taking care of each other has become our priority to get through this pandemic together as soon as we can. Most of us cannot wait for the day they say the world is Covid free, or at least for the day we can go out without a facemask on.

This has been easy for none of us, but we have made the best of this situation. People have become more aware, and conscious. We figured out how to live in this situation and take advantage of the different resources we have. Having virtual classes and keeping up with school and work, connecting with people long-distance and celebrating together from afar, and making the most of the time we have with our families and friends.

As I said, this has not been easy; some of us have struggled more than others, but looking back to a year ago, looking at everything that has happened, and seeing how much we have grown and improved, and that we are still here and a lot better, I think it is beautiful.

Our lives changed drastically a year ago, and I believe (and hope) that for next March, life will be completely different again, “back to normal” or even creating a new normal, because everything that has happened should teach us something, and show us that we need to change some things as a society.
