Your mental health matter

In a world full of technology, problems, and new improvements every day, we tend to forget the importance of mental health; we forget the importance of accepting the things we feel and talking about them. We focus our attention on so many things at the same time that we don't have time to ask ourselves, How are you feeling today?

Our mental health encompasses our psychological, emotional, and social well-being. This means it affects how we feel, think, and behave each day. Our mental health also contributes to our decision-making process, how we deal with stress, and how we relate to others.

Taking care of your mental health is key because this is a vital part of your life and impacts your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Being healthy emotionally can promote productivity and effectiveness in activities like work or school. It also plays a relevant part in the health of your relationships and allows you to adapt to changes in your life and deal with adversity.

Even though people don't talk about it often, mental health is a major topic and one that we should use and keep in mind daily. Having time for yourself every day can make the difference in how you feel. Thinking or talking about the things that are bothering you or upsetting you can help you to overcome these problems or just to feel relieved. Most of you may not like to talk about your feelings, and that is completely acceptable. However, if you are not talking about them because you are ashamed, remember that you should never feel that way, and remember that you matter and your mental health does too.

Check yourself up:

In these difficult times of COVID19, many of you may feel overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, or even scared. Thanks to these feelings you could be forgetting to check yourself up and take care of yourself. Take some time to think about you.

  • Think of a happy thing that happened today.

  • Think of something you're looking forward to.

  • Think of something you want to do later (something you enjoy to do).

Now, which of these things have you done today?

  • You had a shower.

  • You drank water.

  • You organized your room.

  • You ate something today.

Now, don't forget to follow these steps everyday, it is important that if you are not doing well during this time, or even if you are, you take care of doing these small things that can change your day completely and can help you feel better. Keep it up, and don't forget to feel proud of the little things you achieve everyday.
